Field Engineer at Conetec About the role As a Field Engineer at Conetec, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions to our clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and hands-on experience, enabling you to tackle challenges in the field while ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will be working closely with project managers and other engineers to ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our operations in the Ottawa area and beyond.

What you'll do Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and develop engineering solutions that meet client specifications.
Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and determine the feasibility of proposed engineering solutions.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment and systems, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Perform regular inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of field activities, including data collection, analysis, and recommendations for improvements.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or questions.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during project execution.




Stay current with industry trends and advancements in engineering technology to enhance service delivery and project outcomes.
Provide training and support to junior engineers and field technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental standards, throughout all phases of project execution.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to the development of project plans and schedules.
Utilize engineering software and tools to model, analyze, and optimize designs and processes.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field).
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field engineering role, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on practical application in the field.
Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.




Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices in the engineering field.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.
Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and green building standards.
Previous experience working in a client-facing role, particularly in a consulting capacity.
Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
Skills & tools Engineering design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks).
Project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Data analysis tools and techniques for evaluating project performance.
Strong technical writing skills for report preparation and documentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
Practical notes This position may require occasional travel to various job sites within Ontario and potentially other provinces.
Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate project timelines and client needs.
Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada; sponsorship is not available for this position.
