Engagement Manager Lead at DoorDash Canada. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of strategic merchant partnerships across Canada. You will oversee a team of account managers, providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to ensure the growth and retention of key restaurant relationships. Your role will involve working closely with senior stakeholders both within DoorDash and among our merchant partners to drive mutually beneficial outcomes. You will be instrumental in shaping the company's growth strategy by expanding our merchant network, optimizing partnership performance, and ensuring high levels of merchant satisfaction. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments to achieve business objectives. You will be based on-site in either Toronto, ON or Vancouver, BC, and will be expected to engage directly with merchants and internal teams to foster long-term partnerships.

What you'll do Lead, develop, and mentor a team of account managers focused on merchant partnerships, ensuring they have explicit goals, ongoing training, and support to succeed.
Establish and nurture strategic relationships with key merchants, including C-suite executives and operational leaders, to deepen engagement and drive mutual growth.
Develop and execute strategic plans aimed at increasing merchant sales, expanding partnership opportunities, and enhancing overall merchant experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product, and operations to align efforts and deliver integrated solutions that benefit merchants and the company.
Use data-driven insights to monitor merchant performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop initiatives to optimize outcomes.
Address merchant concerns proactively, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
Negotiate terms and develop strategic agreements with key partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and merchant needs.
Drive initiatives to expand the merchant base within Canada, identifying new opportunities and markets for growth.




Contribute to the development of scalable processes for onboarding new merchants, supporting existing partners, and managing ongoing relationships.
Represent DoorDash in strategic discussions and negotiations, acting as a trusted advisor to key merchant stakeholders.
Work closely with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet merchant needs, including marketing campaigns, product features, and operational support.
Advocate for merchant needs within DoorDash, providing feedback to product and leadership teams to improve platform features and service offerings.
Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience managing complex partnerships, with a proven track record of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
At least 3 years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams, particularly in account management, sales, or partnership roles.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic relationships that lead to business growth and increased revenue.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use insights to inform strategic decisions.
Experience working collaboratively across different departments and influencing outcomes to benefit both the company and its partners.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and work quality.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with diverse stakeholders.
Proven impact on business results through strategic initiatives and relationship management.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Robust organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice to have Experience working in high-growth or early-stage startup environments.
Familiarity with AI, analytics, and visualization tools such as Sigma, Excel, Claude, SQL, and Chat GPT.
Knowledge of CRM systems like Salesforce,



and experience integrating these tools into partnership workflows.
Prior experience in the food delivery or technology sectors.
Understanding of the Canadian restaurant and hospitality industry landscape.
Multilingual abilities, especially in languages relevant to the Canadian market, would be advantageous.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to build trust and influence stakeholders.
Proficiency in AI tools and data analytics platforms to support decision-making and operational efficiency.

Practical notes The base salary for this role ranges from $171,000 to $213,750 USD, depending on the specific market within British Columbia.
Total on-target earnings, including base salary and commissions, range from $228,000 to $285,000 CAD.
