About the role Join a small, autonomous team of fewer than five engineers building an AI agent platform to automate complex HR operations. You will design systems that read operational knowledge, reason through context, and execute end-to-end tasks to scale the business.

What you'll do Develop core components of the agent platform, including orchestration layers and internal tool integrations.
Build and maintain the capabilities layer, focusing on APIs, data access, and service integrations for operational workflows.
Architect infrastructure for knowledge retrieval and agent memory.
Implement trust and safety frameworks, including audit trails, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls.
Create testing and evaluation infrastructure to measure agent reliability and accuracy.
Collaborate with Operations teams to identify automation opportunities and translate processes into agent capabilities.
Mentor team members as the group expands.




Requirements 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including RAG, orchestration, and tool or function calling.
Robust proficiency in API design and system integration.
Ability to own complex projects within ambiguous, early-stage environments.
Product-focused mindset with the ability to contribute to strategy beyond technical execution.

Practical notes Base salary range: $188,000 to $242,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and skill set.
