About the role As a key member of Broccolini's project management team, the MEP Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of construction projects. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure that all MEP systems are designed, installed, and maintained according to the highest standards. What you'll do Coordinate the planning and execution of MEP systems for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems seamlessly into the overall project design.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of MEP installations and ensure adherence to project timelines and specifications.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation related to MEP systems, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.
Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, to address any issues or concerns related to MEP systems.
Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for MEP installations, ensuring that all purchases align with project budgets and schedules.
Review and analyze MEP-related submittals and shop drawings,
providing feedback and recommendations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Support the project manager in developing and maintaining project schedules, tracking milestones, and reporting on progress to stakeholders.
Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEP systems and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines.
Participate in project meetings, providing updates on MEP-related activities and collaborating with team members to resolve any outstanding issues.
Ensure that all MEP systems are tested and commissioned according to industry standards before project handover.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to MEP systems to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in MEP coordination within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations relevant to MEP systems.
Proven experience in project management, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with construction safety practices and regulations.
Nice to have Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation or equivalent certification.
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and practices.
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-effective systems.
Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships.
Familiarity with contract management and negotiation processes.
