What you'll do Oversee daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
Manage and supervise subcontractors, ensuring that work is executed to the highest standards and within budget constraints.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
Facilitate communication between all parties involved, including clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, reports, and incident reports, to track project progress and compliance.
Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to meet project schedules.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and laborers, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development.
Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the construction process, maintaining a positive work atmosphere.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on site conditions, progress, and any potential risks to project timelines.
Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with local building codes and regulations, as well as Broccolini's quality standards.
Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry, preferably in commercial or residential projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills,
both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is an asset.
Nice to have Experience with LEED or other sustainable building practices.
Familiarity with project management software such as Procore or similar tools.
Bilingualism in English and French is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse teams and clients.
Previous experience in a fast-paced construction environment.
Professional certifications such as PMP or Gold Seal Certification would be advantageous.
Skills & tools Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
Proficiency in budgeting and cost control measures.
Strong negotiation skills for dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
