BIM Lead at Fastepp. About the role Fastepp is seeking a highly skilled BIM Lead to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to lead Building Information Modeling (BIM) initiatives and drive innovative design solutions across various projects. As a BIM Lead, you will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure the successful implementation of BIM processes, enhancing project efficiency and accuracy. What you'll do Lead the development and implementation of BIM standards and protocols across all projects, ensuring consistency and quality.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and manage 3D models, facilitating effective communication and coordination among stakeholders.
Oversee the integration of BIM software and tools, ensuring that the team is equipped with the latest technology and methodologies.
Conduct regular training sessions for team members on BIM best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that all BIM-related tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM-related inquiries, providing expert guidance and support to both internal teams and external partners.
Analyze project requirements and develop tailored BIM strategies that align with client goals and project specifications.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of BIM processes,
identifying areas for enhancement and implementing necessary changes to improve efficiency.
Participate in project meetings, presenting BIM insights and updates to stakeholders, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to BIM and digital construction practices.
Collaborate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot issues and optimize BIM tools and applications for the team.
Prepare detailed documentation and reports on BIM processes, project progress, and outcomes for internal and client review.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM management or a similar role within the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of 3D modeling and visualization techniques.
Demonstrated experience in leading BIM projects from inception to completion, showcasing a track record of successful project delivery.
Solid knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and best practices related to BIM and digital construction.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to have Certification in BIM management or related credentials (e.g., BIM Level 2 Certification).
Experience with additional software tools such as Civil 3D, SketchUp, or GIS applications.
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
Previous experience in a leadership role or managing a team of BIM professionals.
Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration platforms for BIM (e.g., BIM 360, Trimble Connect).
Skills & tools Advanced proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD).
Strong understanding of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
Familiarity with visualization tools and rendering software.
Knowledge of programming or scripting languages related to BIM automation (e.g., Dynamo, Python).
Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Practical notes This position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and may need to provide proof of work authorization.
