What you'll do Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs that comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote safe work practices and address safety concerns proactively.
Provide training and resources to employees on health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental practices.
Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to health, safety, and environmental metrics.
Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance audits for regulatory reporting.
Stay updated on industry trends,



regulations, and best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.
Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
Liaise with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and promote Broccolini's commitment to safety and sustainability.
Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Foster a culture of safety by encouraging employee engagement and feedback on health and safety matters.
Requirements A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction or real estate sector.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices in Ontario.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with safety management software.




Certification in health and safety (e.g., CRSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Nice to have Experience in environmental management systems and sustainability initiatives.
Familiarity with construction site operations and safety challenges.
Previous experience conducting training sessions and workshops.
Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and root cause analysis.Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
Skills & tools The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to health and safety management. Familiarity with tools such as incident reporting software, safety management systems, and environmental monitoring equipment will be beneficial. The ability to analyze data and generate reports will also be essential in this role.
