About the role As a Senior Site Superintendent at Broccolini, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. What you'll do Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving throughout the construction process.
Oversee the coordination of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, safety logs, and progress updates for stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety on-site.
Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of materials and labor to minimize costs.
Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or changes in project scope promptly and professionally.
Train and mentor junior staff and subcontractors, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in construction methods.
Participate in project meetings, providing updates on site progress and addressing any challenges that arise.
Implement and uphold Broccolini's quality assurance protocols to ensure all work meets the company's high standards.
Drive initiatives for sustainability and innovation in construction practices, aligning with Broccolini's commitment to environmental responsibility.
Requirements A minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a focus on commercial or residential projects.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, particularly within the Ontario market.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of budgeting and scheduling.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Valid certification in construction safety (e.g., WHMIS, First Aid, etc.) is required.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal,
with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.
Previous experience in a supervisory role within a similar construction environment.
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
Skills & tools Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore).
Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong negotiation skills for managing contracts and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers.
Practical notes This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites within the Ottawa area.
