Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist at One Medical. About the role In this multifaceted position, you will play a crucial role in supporting both laboratory operations and member services to enhance the quality of primary care provided at One Medical. Your responsibilities will include performing essential clinical tasks while ensuring that patients feel welcomed and cared for during their visits to our Westport office. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of patient care that One Medical is known for.

What you'll do Conduct laboratory tests and collect specimens in line with established clinical protocols to ensure accurate results.
Welcome patients upon arrival, assisting them with check-in procedures and addressing any questions they may have to create a friendly atmosphere.
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate follow-up visits to optimize patient flow and satisfaction.
Keep meticulous records of patient interactions and laboratory activities, adhering to company policies for documentation and confidentiality.
Work closely with physicians and nursing staff to streamline clinical processes and enhance patient care delivery.
Participate in quality assurance activities to maintain compliance with health regulations and improve laboratory practices.
Educate patients about lab procedures and what to expect during their visits, helping to alleviate any concerns.
Assist in inventory management for laboratory supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for efficient operations.




Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure seamless communication between clinical and non-clinical staff.
Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in laboratory services and patient support.
Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and participating in team meetings and initiatives.
Address any patient complaints or issues promptly and effectively, escalating matters as necessary to ensure resolution.
Requirements Must be able to work on-site at the Westport, Connecticut location.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Proven ability to juggle both administrative tasks and clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in laboratory or patient support roles, is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks.
A commitment to providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive environment for all members.
Nice to have Certification or training in phlebotomy or laboratory techniques would be advantageous.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and patient management.
Previous experience in a customer service role,



particularly within healthcare, to enhance patient interactions.
Bilingual abilities to communicate with a diverse patient population effectively.
Skills & tools Proficient in using laboratory equipment and technology relevant to specimen collection and testing.
Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and regulations to ensure adherence to best practices.
Strong computer skills, including experience with scheduling software and patient management systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented workplace while also being self-motivated.
