Solutions Engineer, Compliance & Security at Scalepad. About the role Scalepad is seeking a dedicated Solutions Engineer with a focus on Compliance and Security to join our creative team in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of security and compliance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust security measures while also addressing customer needs and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will help us enhance our product offerings and ensure that we remain a trusted partner in the industry.

What you'll do Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to integrate security and compliance requirements into the software development lifecycle.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and compliance gaps in our solutions.
Develop and implement security best practices and compliance frameworks that align with industry standards and regulations.
Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding compliance and security features of our products.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to security policies, procedures, and compliance measures.
Assist in the preparation and execution of security audits, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Work closely with the customer support team to address security-related inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in security and compliance, and proactively recommend improvements to our processes and technologies.
Train and mentor team members on security and compliance best practices, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that we are prepared to address any security breaches effectively.
Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during compliance assessments and audits.
Engage with customers to gather feedback on security features and compliance needs, driving continuous improvement in our offerings.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a solutions engineering role with a focus on security and compliance.
Strong understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or SOC 2.
Proven experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption methods.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Nice to have Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Experience with cloud security and compliance in platforms like AWS or Azure.
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java for automation and scripting purposes.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role, particularly in a technical capacity.
Skills & tools Proficiency in security assessment tools and methodologies, including penetration testing and threat modeling.
Familiarity with compliance management software and tools.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and metrics related to security and compliance.
Experience with project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
Knowledge of network security protocols and practices.
Practical notes This position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and may require occasional travel for client meetings or training sessions.
