Senior Engineering Manager, Product Growth at homebase.
About the role Homebase is on an exciting trajectory, with a remarkable annual recurring revenue growth exceeding 50% year-over-year. The Growth team plays a pivotal role in this success, focusing on the development of AI-driven solutions aimed at enhancing customer acquisition, activation, and retention.
Location: Toronto
Engagement: Full-Time, Hybrid (in-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
Compensation: CA$222.3K - CA$261.5K, plus equity
Team: Engineering
What you'll do Manage all facets of Growth engineering, including the design of acquisition funnels, onboarding processes, product-led growth loops, and retention systems that directly influence Homebase's revenue streams.
Work in close partnership with the Director of Product Growth and Growth Design leadership to provide engineering agility, technical guidance, and architectural insights that drive growth initiatives.
Create and nurture a culture of frequent A/B testing, ensuring rigorous measurement of outcomes and the swift integration of successful strategies into production environments.
Lead engineering projects focused on AI-driven features that improve personalization, onboarding intelligence, and automation, ultimately boosting conversion rates.
Attract, mentor, and retain talented engineers, cultivating a high-performing team atmosphere while promoting technical excellence and expertise in AI technologies.
Establish technical standards and make architectural decisions that facilitate rapid development while minimizing future technical debt.
Maintain a dynamic operational pace by eliminating barriers, making decisive choices, and keeping the team aligned with key objectives.




Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between engineering efforts and overall business goals, facilitating effective communication across departments.
Requirements A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years in a managerial role overseeing engineering teams.
Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams focused on growth, platforms, or products within a fast-paced SaaS or consumer technology environment.
In-depth knowledge of growth engineering principles, including funnel analysis, A/B testing frameworks, activation and retention strategies, and product-led growth methodologies.
Solid analytical abilities to interpret funnel data, understand user cohorts, and instrument features for effective data collection.
Experience in developing or integrating AI/ML functionalities into products, such as recommendation systems, personalization features, or automation tools.
Proficient in leveraging AI tools to enhance personal productivity and guiding teams in doing the same, with a clear perspective on the benefits of AI-driven features for users.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging in discussions related to product strategy as well as technical design reviews across various departments.
Nice to have Familiarity with product-led growth strategies in B2B SaaS,



including self-service funnels, freemium conversions, and product-led sales transitions.
Experience with products tailored for small businesses or hourly workforces.
Knowledge of mobile-first growth strategies, including iOS/Android onboarding, push notifications, and in-app engagement techniques.
