Senior Analyst at Lyft. About the role As a Senior Analyst at Lyft, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our operations in Toronto, Canada. What you'll do Analyze large datasets to derive meaningful insights that inform business strategies and operational improvements.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to develop data‑driven solutions that enhance user experience and increase customer satisfaction.
Create and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide visibility into operational metrics.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the ride‑sharing sector.
Develop predictive models to forecast demand and optimize resource allocation for better service delivery.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.




Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and availability for analysis.
Mentor junior analysts, providing guidance on best practices in data analysis and interpretation.
Participate in cross‑functional projects, contributing analytical expertise to support business initiatives.
Continuously seek out new analytical tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data analysis processes.
Engage in stakeholder management, ensuring alignment between analytical outputs and business needs.
Support ad‑hoc analysis requests from various departments, providing timely and relevant insights to drive decision‑making.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the tech or transportation sectors.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R, with a solid understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to present data insights effectively.
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to non‑technical stakeholders.




Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Detail‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and experimental design is a plus.
Nice to have Master's degree in a related field.
Experience in the ride‑sharing or transportation industry.
Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in predictive analytics.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud for data storage and processing.
Previous experience in a mentorship or leadership role within an analytical team.
