IT Administrator at Ott. About the role As an IT Administrator at Ott, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our technology infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, supporting our team members, and implementing best practices in IT management. What you'll do Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware components, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Provide technical support to employees, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and effectively to minimize downtime.
Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure the reliability and security of IT systems.
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect company data and ensure business continuity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and recommend solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
Develop and maintain documentation related to IT processes, procedures, and system configurations for reference and compliance.
Stay updated on the latest technology trends and best practices, integrating relevant advancements into the company's IT strategy.




Assist in the procurement of IT equipment and software, negotiating with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Conduct training sessions for staff on new technologies and software applications to enhance their technical skills and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies, implementing necessary security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
Troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with external service providers to resolve connectivity problems swiftly.
Participate in IT projects, contributing to system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of current technologies as needed.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT administration or a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, server management, and cybersecurity principles.
Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux operating systems, along with experience in virtualization technologies.
Familiarity with cloud services and solutions, such as AWS or Azure, is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.




Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Experience with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
Nice to have Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and system management.
Knowledge of IT compliance standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001 or GDPR.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is a plus.
Skills & tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools such as Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Experience with remote desktop support tools and software management systems.
Familiarity with monitoring tools and network management software.
Strong analytical skills to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-evolving environment.
Practical notes This position is based in Toronto, Ontario, and may require occasional on-site presence for hardware maintenance and support tasks.
The role may involve some after-hours work for system upgrades and maintenance to minimize disruption to business operations.
Candidates must have valid work authorization in Canada; Ott is open to considering applicants with the necessary visa requirements.
