5-Axis Machinist at Sybridgetech Sybridgetech is seeking a skilled 5-Axis Machinist to join our dynamic team in Lakeshore, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for operating advanced 5-axis CNC machines to produce precision components that meet our high-quality standards. As a vital part of our manufacturing process, you will work closely with engineers and other machinists to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and accurately. What you'll do Operate and program 5-axis CNC machines to fabricate complex components according to engineering specifications and drawings.
Set up machines and tools, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for optimal performance.
Conduct regular quality inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure adherence to tolerances and specifications.
Collaborate with design engineers to provide feedback on manufacturability and suggest improvements to designs for better production efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve any machining issues that arise during the production process, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a protected working environment.
Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed,



including any modifications made to tooling or setups.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes and reducing waste.
Train and mentor junior machinists and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster skill development within the team.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of CNC machines to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Stay updated with the latest machining technologies and techniques to continually improve skills and contribute to the team's success.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality products to clients.
Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Strong understanding of CNC programming languages, such as G-code and M-code.
Experience with CAD/CAM software for programming and simulation of machining processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.




Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.
Nice to have Experience with multi-axis machining centers and advanced tooling techniques.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Certification in CNC machining or related fields.
Knowledge of ISO quality standards and practices in a manufacturing setting.
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a machining environment.
Skills & tools Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) for programming and design.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes and tooling.
Ability to operate various types of CNC machines and tools effectively.
Knowledge of material properties and machining techniques for different materials (e.g., metals, plastics).
Practical notes This position is located in Lakeshore, Ontario, and requires candidates to be eligible to work in Canada.
The role may involve standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials, so physical stamina is important.
Candidates may be required to work overtime or flexible hours to meet production deadlines.
