What you'll do Assist in the organization and maintenance of the yard, ensuring that all materials and equipment are stored properly and safely.
Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
Operate various yard equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to facilitate the movement of materials.
Conduct regular inspections of yard equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and report any issues to the supervisor.
Collaborate with team members to prepare materials for upcoming projects, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
Maintain a clean and safe work setting by following all safety protocols and guidelines.
Assist in inventory management by keeping track of materials and supplies, and reporting any shortages to management.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to yard operations and safety practices.
Support other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
Follow all company policies and procedures to contribute to a positive workplace culture.




Provide exceptional support to team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations throughout the yard.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to enhance efficiency and safety within the yard.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is an asset.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery; certification is a plus.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a yard setting.
Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
Nice to have Experience with inventory management systems or software.
Basic mechanical skills to perform minor repairs on equipment.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and safety procedures.
Skills & tools Proficiency in operating yard equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand tools.
Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly yard and inventory.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a yard or warehouse setting.
Practical notes This position is based in Calmar, Alberta, and may require working outdoors in various weather conditions.
