Senior Staff Cloud Security Engineer - Financial Services at ServiceNow. About the role The Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is on the lookout for a seasoned security professional to spearhead the cloud security strategy specifically tailored for the financial services sector. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the main technical advisor for both potential and existing clients, while also focusing on enhancing internal security measures and managing incident responses effectively.
Key facts Location: Toronto, Canada
Engagement: Full-time
Team: You will be part of the AMS team within the Office of the CISO.
What you'll do Lead in-depth security discussions with clients and prospects in the Canadian financial services industry, ensuring their concerns are addressed comprehensively.
Provide support to sales teams throughout the entire pre-sales and post-sales processes, which includes responding to various security-related inquiries and questionnaires.
Tackle security challenges associated with Agentic AI and Generative AI implementations, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest security standards.
Conduct security-focused calls with customers and represent the company at industry conferences, sharing insights and best practices.
Offer expert guidance during security incidents and investigations, including performing thorough post-incident reviews to identify areas for improvement.
Recommend design modifications aimed at bolstering the security posture of our cloud environments, ensuring they are resilient against emerging threats.




Assist in negotiating security-related clauses in contracts, ensuring that all agreements align with best practices in security.
Work collaboratively with various internal teams to resolve security issues and enhance the overall customer experience related to cloud security.
Requirements A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years dedicated to Cloud Security.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status under the Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Contract Security Program.
A solid understanding of the security challenges posed by Agentic AI and Generative AI technologies.
Experience in Cloud Operations, whether from the perspective of a provider or a customer, is essential.
Strong foundational knowledge of enterprise cyber defense mechanisms and security operations.
Proven ability to articulate complex security concepts to executive-level audiences in a explicit and concise manner.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Must demonstrate the ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, showcasing strong self-management skills.
Nice to have Specialized knowledge of security regulations within the financial services sector.




Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CSSP, or CEH that validate your expertise.
Proficiency in French, which can enhance communication with a broader client base.
Familiarity with ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks, which can be beneficial in managing security processes.
Skills & tools Expertise in threat analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Comprehensive understanding of enterprise cyber defense strategies and their implementation.
Proficiency in cloud security architecture to design secure cloud environments.
Experience in managing the sales lifecycle, particularly in relation to security aspects.
Strong capabilities in incident response and remediation, ensuring swift action during security breaches.
Practical notes This position requires access to a Protected B cloud environment, and as such, ServiceNow will facilitate the Government of Canada Reliability Status screening process for the selected candidate.
