Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Experience
A minimum of three years' experience as a Sonographer.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound training program.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Active registration status with Sonography Canada in the appropriate practitioner category. An exemption may be granted for sonographers who hold active registration status with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the appropriate specialty provided that the manager or designate determines competency of the sonography is compliant with the competency requirements of Sonography Canada.
Qualifications and Skills
Leadership education or certificates are considered an asset.
Understanding of office applications in a Windows environment with experience working with Microsoft Office programs preferred.
Demonstrates strong organization and prioritizing skills.
Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies, groups and the public.
Physical Requirements
Physical health to meet the requirements of the position includingstanding or walking for extended periods of time without resting.
Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
Must be able to lift and position clients, some of whom are in a state of unconsciousness.
May be required to occasionally work extended hours.
May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
Regular travel throughout the service area may be required as well as a valid Manitoba’s driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
