About the role As the Manager of Software Development at Paybyphone, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic team of software engineers dedicated to enhancing our mobile payment solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing the development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that meet our customers' needs while aligning with the company's strategic goals.

What you'll do Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth.
Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and testing, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Implement agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and responsiveness to changing project requirements, facilitating regular sprint planning and retrospectives.
Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and conducting regular performance reviews to support individual development plans.
Drive the adoption of modern software development practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews, to improve code quality and deployment efficiency.
Manage project budgets and resources effectively,



ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope, while identifying and mitigating risks proactively.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into the team's workflow to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to share ideas and participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Liaise with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure seamless integration of software solutions and address any customer feedback.
Prepare and present regular updates to senior management on project status, team performance, and strategic initiatives.
Participate in recruitment efforts to attract top talent to the software development team, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, along with experience in web and mobile application development.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.




Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and familiarity with microservices architecture is highly desirable.
Knowledge of database management systems and experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Nice to have Experience in the payment processing industry or familiarity with mobile payment technologies.
Previous experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Understanding of data security and compliance standards relevant to payment systems.
Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and their application in software development.
