Senior Content Strategy Manager at Cancer Research UK. About the role As a Senior Content Strategy Manager at Cancer Research UK, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and directing the content strategy for the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our messaging is not only aligned with our mission but also resonates with our diverse audience. What you'll do Design and implement comprehensive content strategies that effectively engage our target demographics and enhance our brand presence.
Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, research, and communications, to produce high-quality content that aligns with our organizational goals.
Analyze audience data and content performance metrics to refine strategies and improve engagement outcomes.
Oversee the content creation process, ensuring that all materials are on-brand, accurate, and delivered on time.
Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative content ideas that can drive awareness and support for our mission.
Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to inform content strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of relevant and timely content across all platforms.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Present content strategy proposals and performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices in content creation and dissemination.
Manage relationships with external content creators and agencies as needed to enhance our content offerings.
Regularly review and update existing content to ensure it remains current and effective in achieving our goals.
Requirements At least 5 years of experience in content strategy, communications, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in content development.
A proven history of successfully managing content projects from initial concept through to final execution.
Deep understanding of audience segmentation, analysis, and the metrics that gauge content performance.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly.
Strong collaborative skills, with a track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have Experience working within the nonprofit sector or healthcare industry, providing insight into the unique challenges and opportunities in these fields.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing techniques to enhance content visibility and engagement.
Familiarity with various content management systems and digital analytics tools to track performance and inform strategy.
Skills & tools Proficient in using content management systems, analytics platforms, and other digital tools to manage and measure content effectiveness.
Strong organizational abilities, with meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of content creation and management.
Capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness.
