What you'll do Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to address product issues and implement effective solutions.
Analyze product performance data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive enhancements in existing products.
Develop and execute test plans to validate product changes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Document engineering processes, including design changes, test results, and maintenance procedures, to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
Participate in root cause analysis for product failures, utilizing problem-solving methodologies to develop corrective actions.
Assist in the development of training materials and provide training to team members and customers on product features and maintenance.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology to inform product development and sustainment strategies.
Support the transition of new products from development to production, ensuring that all necessary documentation and processes are in place.
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and performance, contributing to the overall efficiency of engineering operations.
Work closely with suppliers and vendors to address material and component issues that may impact product performance.
Participate in regular team meetings to share insights, progress updates, and collaborate on ongoing projects.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a sustaining engineering role or similar position within a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in engineering software tools, such as CAD, simulation software, and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being capable of working independently.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance standards relevant to the engineering field.
Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools is a plus.
Nice to have Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada or equivalent.
Experience in the air management or HVAC industry.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
Familiarity with project management principles and tools.
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Skills & tools Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modeling.
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Excel) for performance evaluation.
Familiarity with simulation software for testing and validation purposes.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
Ability to use project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello) to track progress and collaborate with team members.
Practical notes This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, and may require occasional travel to customer sites or manufacturing facilities.
Candidates must possess valid work authorization in Canada.
