What you'll do Lead and mentor a diverse team of software developers, fostering a cooperative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth.
Oversee the entire software development process, from initial concept through deployment, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
Collaborate with product management and design teams to define project requirements and translate them into actionable development tasks.
Implement agile methodologies to enhance team productivity and responsiveness to changing project needs.
Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, utilizing project management tools to track progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development process, proactively addressing potential challenges before they impact project timelines.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements into the development process to enhance product offerings.
Facilitate cross-functional communication between development,
marketing, and customer support teams to ensure alignment on product goals and user needs.
Develop and maintain documentation for software architecture, processes, and best practices to support team onboarding and knowledge sharing.
Participate in recruitment efforts to attract top talent, conducting interviews and evaluating candidates for technical and cultural fit.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development team, identifying areas for optimization and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python, with a strong understanding of software development frameworks and methodologies.
Experience with mobile application development, particularly in iOS and Android platforms.
Familiarity with cloud services and technologies, such as AWS or Azure, to support scalable application deployment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of data security best practices and experience implementing secure coding standards.
Nice to have Experience in the health and wellness industry, particularly in developing applications related to nutrition or fitness.
Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques to inform product development decisions.
Previous experience with user experience (UX) design principles and methodologies.
Understanding of DevOps practices and tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
Certification in project management methodologies, such as PMP or Scrum Master.
Skills & tools Proficient in Agile and Scrum methodologies for project management.
Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) and software development tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
Knowledge of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
