Our client, a well-established and continually growing manufacturing company located in the picturesque Annapolis Valley, is seeking an experienced Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is a permanent opportunity, ideal for a CPA who enjoys working in a quick-paced, multi-dimensional environment and wants to play a key role in supporting operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements
Coordinate and support the annual external financial statement audit
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the management team
Develop and monitor budget variance reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and management reporting tools
Perform product costing and profitability analysis to support strategic decision-making
Calculate, analyze, and maintain accurate inventory valuations
Serve as the accounting team's subject matter expert on existing financial systems and support the implementation of new ERP and accounting software
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls
Experience & Attributes for Success:
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred; cost accounting experience is considered a strong asset
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong aptitude for learning, navigating, and optimizing ERP systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
