Senior Data Engineer at Applydigital. About the role Applydigital builds agentic customer experience solutions for major global brands like the NFL, Lululemon, and Arc'teryx. We are seeking a technical expert to manage our data infrastructure and help drive our AI-native delivery capabilities.
Key facts Location: Greater Toronto Area or Greater Vancouver Area, Canada (Hybrid/Remote)
Engagement: Full-Time Permanent
What you'll do Architect and maintain scalable data pipelines for operational and analytical needs.
Build and refine ETL and ELT processes for diverse data sources.
Coordinate with backend and platform teams to embed data pipelines into cloud applications.
Oversee BigQuery environments to maximize performance, cost-efficiency, and scale.
Enforce data security, privacy, and governance standards.
Partner with analytics teams to create data models and support self-service reporting.
Maintain comprehensive data documentation, including lineage and metadata.
Perform ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability.
Requirements 5+ years of professional data engineering experience on modern cloud platforms.
Current SnowPro certification.
Advanced proficiency in SQL for data transformation and analytics.
Strong Python skills for automation and data processing.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake,



including modeling, security, and performance tuning.
Experience using dbt or equivalent analytics engineering tools.
Familiarity with orchestration platforms like Apache Airflow or Dagster.
Background in supporting AI, machine learning, or feature engineering workflows.
Proven ability to work with distributed teams across North America and Latin America.
Fluent English communication skills.
Nice to have Experience with Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, or ML integration.
Background in LLM-enabled analytics or GenAI use cases.
Knowledge of Databricks or hybrid Snowflake/Databricks setups.
Experience with real-time data pipelines.
Proficiency in BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
Infrastructure as Code skills using Terraform.
Familiarity with marketing platforms, CDPs, or digital experience tools like Segment or Contentful.
