Job Description Transportation and Utilities is looking for afull-timepermanent

Heavy Equipment Operator for our Operations Programs team to workprimarily on our Paving and Patching Crewin the summer months and Urban snow removal in winter.

The successful candidate will have the capability tooperatevarious pieces of heavy equipment such as grader, paver, gravel truck, loader,snowblowerand bobcat.

The position may berequiredto perform general labour duties as needed.

Previousexperience in asphalt patching is preferred.

Job Duties & Responsibilities Operating various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe andappropriate manner.

Clean,maintainand secure all equipment as directed by legislation,policiesand procedures.

Operate loader and backhoe to load trucks.

Communicate with co-workers and supervisors.

Participate in safety meetings.

Deal with members of the public in a courteous, respectful manner.

Provide labour or other related duties as assigned.

Operators have a responsibility to promote andparticipatein the Countys health and safety program, follow safe workproceduresandcomply with

Occupational Health and Safety legislation.

Qualifications Class 5 Driver''s License and clean abstract Class 1 drivers license is an asset; Class 1 drivers licenserequiredtooperatesome equipment Experience in asphalt patching preferred Experience towing a trailer Willingness and ability to work long hours including weekends whenrequired Ability tooperateheavy equipment (bobcat, packer, backhoe, etc.) Ability to interact with members of the public and coworkers effectively and courteously Physical ability to perform labour duties Ability to use hand/power tools Ability to dobasic maintenance on equipment would be an asset Experience with Microsoft 365 and an ability to use computers Additional Information What We Offer: The County of Grande Prairie provides a competitive compensation package,

Hourly Pay: $36.48 $42.92.
