Job Description Saskatchewan Health Authority Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology are seeking an Obstetrical Hospitalist to provide Obstetrical services in the new Jim Pattison Childrens Hospital (JPCH).
The Obstetrical service is multidisciplinary and has two in-house obstetricians at all times and there are about 5400 deliveries per year.
Services provided by the Obstetrical Hospitalist include: Unscheduled maternal/fetal assessments for urgent medical problems Assessment of acute change or deterioration of medical status of inpatients on the prenatal unit Management of labour and delivery of pregnant patients Management of antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum complications Provision of urgent caesarean section Supervision of learners,
both postgraduate and undergraduate Huddle and patient management and flow Shifts would be offered up to 106 hours per month Shifts are divided into 10 hour day shifts (0730-1730) 14 hour night shifts (1730-0730) The Maternal Care Centre of JPCH provides 24/7 services and features: Single Room Maternal Care (49 private rooms and 3 operating rooms) Prenatal Unit (8 private rooms) Maternal Assessment (8 private rooms) Maternal Fetal Unit (3 exam rooms and 2 consult rooms) Maternal Outpatient Department (5 exam rooms) Take a virtual tour of the Jim Pattison Children''s Hospital Job Qualifications Candidates must have Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for membership on the Saskatchewan Health Authority Practitioner Staff.
