Job Details: Job Title: Digital Product Designer-Expert (Manager, Product Design) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid Onsite) | (-days / Week) Duration: Months Description: Manager, Digital Product Design What is the opportunity? We are currently seeking a Manager, Digital Product Design to lead the design strategy and research for key digital products and transformation initiatives.
This position is currently hybrid, requiring days in the office per week.
What will you do? Working with the Senior Manager, Digital Product Design, you will define project strategy and lead cross-functional teams through the design thinking process including stakeholders such as business, operations, technology, design and development.
Lead discovery initiatives and align cross-functional teams on problem definition and strategic direction by integrating diverse perspectives and business needs Support qualitative research including user interviews, contextual inquiry, and competitive analysis; build empathy and advocate for user-centered design Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies (especially AI/ML capabilities) to identify strategic opportunities Synthesize multiple data sources and research insights into artifacts (ex: journey maps, personas, ecosystem maps).
Present strategic insights that are actionable, compelling, and connected to business strategy to audiences at all levels, including executives.
Design and facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to explore current challenges and envision future-state solutions Navigate ambiguity in a quick-paced environments where challenges are broad and multifaceted What do you need to succeed? Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Sociology, Anthropology, History, Psychology, Strategic Foresight or other research-oriented discipline of Humanities, Cultural studies, Political Science, or Business or equivalent work experience. - years of experience in product strategy, design, consulting, and/or research.
Solid qualitative research skills including methodology selection, user recruitment, research guide development, and insight synthesis Understanding of design thinking methodologies, tools and research methods.
Robust facilitation skills; comfortable planning and leading collaborative virtual and in-person workshops Ability to take complex information and present insights in a simplified, easy to understand, and visually appealing way to stakeholders.
Ability to collect diverse stakeholder feedback and iterate on outputs.
