Sous Chef – Monki Bistro (Crowfoot Crescent Calgary Alberta, Full Time)

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily kitchen operations during brunch service, ensuring quality and consistency

Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute creative menu items

Manage and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient work environment

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness

Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimize waste

Support smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams

Assist in training new team members and promoting professional growth

Troubleshoot operational challenges quickly to maintain service flow

Must-Have Qualifications

Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards

Leadership and team management skills





Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak brunch hours

Passion for creative, customer-oriented cuisine

Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Mandatory working on weekends and holidays

Nice-to-Have / Bonus Skills

Culinary certification or formal training

Experience with inventory management software

Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergen handling

Food Safe certified

Previous experience in a brunch-focused restaurant

Compensation & Benefits

Work Location & Schedule
This is a full time, on-site position based at Monki Bistro on Crowfoot Crescent in Calgary, Alberta. Weekend and holiday shifts are required to support our busy brunch service.
