**Job description**
The HSE Co-op placement has the responsibility to assist with SEC's health, safety, and environmental program.

Safran's paid Co-op program allows students the opportunity to gain valuable and applicable work experience in a fast-paced and challenging environment.





The Co-op placement is for the duration of the Fall/Winter with flexible start/end dates and will consist of both major projects as well as daily HSE-related tasks.

As a co-op student, you will work on meaningful projects that support our operations and give you hands-on experience in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and revision of HSE policies and procedures
• Support completion of hazard and risk assessments for job tasks and equipment
• Develop and maintain a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) inventory and chemical log to ensure WHMIS compliance
• Assist in the creation of an SEC HSE Handbook for new hires
• Support compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and WHMIS requirements
• Participate in incident investigations, assist with documentation, and contribute to root cause analysis
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and regularly access the production floor
• CSA-approved safety footwear is required and must be provided by the employee
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies

**Candidate skills & requirements**
• Currently enrolled in an Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or related program
• Working knowledge of Ontario OHSA and WHMIS legislation
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power

Point)
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to work in accordance with Ontario Health & Safety legislation.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and regularly access the production floor
• CSA-approved safety footwear is required and must be provided by the employee
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with company policies
• Must be able to qualify for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Canada.
