Our client, a growing firm providing integrated accounting, tax, and legal services to Canadian and US clients ranging from small owner-managed enterprises to large private organizations, trusts, and partnerships, requires a Canadian Tax Principal to join their Calgary team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of Canada's top tax professionals in a leadership capacity.

You will advise business owners and clients on a full spectrum of tax services, including business and succession planning, reorganizations, cross-border tax issues, and related tax compliance. Responsibilities include managing and overseeing engagement teams focused on partnership, corporate, trust, and individual tax clients, including planning, execution, training, mentoring, client relationship management, and continued development of the firm's overall tax function. You will oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T5013), elections, and regulatory filings (T1134, T106), identify client opportunities, engage in proposal development, and oversee in-depth tax research with written memos.



You will also write and present on trending tax topics internally and externally, liaise with legal teams, collaborate with the US tax team on cross-border issues, develop creative tax planning strategies, and lead the administration of personal and trust tax compliance seasons.

The ideal candidate holds a Canadian CPA designation with 10+ years of relevant tax experience and completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or a Master's in Taxation. You are organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. A team player who takes initiative and is eager to collaborate with accountants, lawyers, and tax professionals.
