Out of School Care Leader

Murrayville Academy Early Learning Centre is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and caring Out of School Care Leader to join our growing team. Position Overview

The Out of School Care Leader is responsible for planning and leading engaging before and after school programming for children ages 5–10 years. Working both independently and collaboratively with the Out of School Care team, you will create a welcoming environment that encourages creativity, active play, friendships, and personal growth while ensuring the safety and well-being of every child.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and actively engage children in daily indoor and outdoor activities.
- Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate recreational activities, games, crafts, and enrichment opportunities.
- Foster positive relationships while supporting children's social, emotional, and physical development.
- Ensure the health, safety,



and well-being of all children by maintaining appropriate supervision and following licensing policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage a group of approximately 6–10 children independently.
- Encourage teamwork, cooperation, problem-solving, and positive behaviour.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians during daily arrivals and departures.
- Prepare activity spaces and ensure classrooms are organized, clean, and ready for programming each day.
- Work collaboratively with fellow educators to create a positive, supportive team setting.
- Participate in outdoor play and physical activities in all seasons.

Qualifications

Minimum Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) Certification or Responsible Adult Certification (required).

- Experience working with children 5–10 years of age.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional care.
- Experience in recreation, camps, sports, or school-age care is considered an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

- Starting wage: $19.00/hour.
- ECE Wage Enhancement: Eligible Early Childhood Educators may receive an additional $6.00/hour ECE Wage Enhancement, bringing the total hourly compensation opportunity to $25.00/hour for eligible ECE-certified employees.
