The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as the senior financial executive and Executive Director of Finance. The CFO will be responsible for the effective and accountable management of the company's financial administration systems and processes, leading strategic financial planning, and ensuring solid internal controls and transparent financial reporting.
This role is pivotal in safeguarding the company's financial integrity and supporting its pursuit of fiscal sovereignty. The CFO will also be tasked with leading the annual budget process, preparing financial forecasts, and directing financial strategy.
The successful candidate must have a professional accounting designation (CPA) and a degree in a related field,
with a minimum of 8-10 years' progressive financial leadership experience. Experience within a First Nation or Indigenous organization is preferred.
Key competencies include high integrity, a builder mindset, and the ability to manage complex budgets and financial obligations. The CFO will also be expected to have a strong understanding of First Nation financial administration and governance, and a reverence for the company's way of life.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills are essential, as the role involves working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including elected officials and community members.
