Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Signals & Communications Supervisor for a full-time leadership opportunity with our client in the railway industry. This position is ideal for an experienced Signals & Communications professional who is passionate about safety, operational excellence, employee development, and maintaining critical rail infrastructure.
As a Signals & Communications Supervisor, you will lead maintenance, inspection, and installation activities across an assigned territory, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and collective agreements.
You will play a key role in driving safety performance, overseeing capital projects, and supporting service reliability.

Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and support Signals & Communications (S&C;) personnel within an assigned territory
- Ensure maintenance, inspection, and installation activities are performed in accordance with company and Transport Canada standards
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities
- Address performance concerns and recommend corrective actions when required
- Respond to and resolve employee relations matters, including grievances
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across all operations
- Conduct efficiency testing, safety audits, and safety walkabouts
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to improve safety performance
- Identify risks and implement corrective actions to enhance workplace safety
Capital Projects
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee Signals & Communications capital projects
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution
Incident Response & Service Reliability
- Participate in investigations related to derailments, service disruptions, and operational incidents
- Work closely with transportation and mechanical teams to identify root causes and preventative solutions
- Support emergency response activities and restoration of rail services as needed
- Develop and implement solutions to improve system reliability and operational performance
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in Signals & Communications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an S&C; Maintainer
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience leading teams in a unionized and safety-sensitive environment is considered an asset
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
- Two-year Technical Diploma
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is considered an asset
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Extensive knowledge of Signals & Communications infrastructure and related safety systems
- Strong understanding of railway regulations, standards, specifications, and procedures
- Experience managing S&C; maintenance and capital projects
- Proficiency with:
- Signals & Communications Inspection System (SCIS)
- SAP
- Train Management Dispatch System (TMDS)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety and leads by example
- Builds solid relationships and delivers solutions that support operational goals
- Communicates effectively with employees, stakeholders, and senior management
- Maintains composure in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments
- Holds self and others accountable for achieving results
- Shares information effectively across teams to drive performance and collaboration
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
