While most work is completed remotely from your home office, you must be based in the Maritimes to attend regular in-person meetings in Moncton, NB. A reliable home office setup is required. You're able to see both the forest and the trees, delivering key financial data and insights across the company in a timely manner.
You'll play a crucial role in supporting our accounting, financial reporting, and in-house rewards program (GeniusCash) – from revenue recording and forecasting to fulfilment validation and fraud investigation – keeping the company and business running smoothly. In addition, we’re re‑inventing personal finance education and rewards with our new GeniusCash mobile app that makes learning about and maximizing your money fun and engaging. Our team helps hundreds of thousands of Canadians per month make the most informed financial decisions by building best‑in‑class fintech products and crafting high‑quality educational content.

We need a detail‑oriented, reliable, and trustworthy Financial Operations Analyst to be part of our growing team.
Run the day-to-day accounting – classifying transactions in QBO, managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining the general ledger, and keeping the books clean Develop and enforce well‑maintained financial documents, policies, systems, and internal controls ensuring compliance with provincial and federal regulations Evaluate marketing and channel performance through a financial lens – analysing CAC, LTV, revenue per user, and ROI across SEO, paid media, and affiliate networks – translating data into clear, actionable recommendations that drive conversion and revenue growth Work with analytics and data‑visualization tools, alongside core financial platforms to extract insights, identify trends,
and surface the data that matters most to the business Own the end‑to‑end financial operations of the GeniusCash rewards program – including weekly fulfilment validation and payment processing with the Customer Service team, fraud investigation, and reconciliation of manual approvals Finance Manager and other members of the senior leadership team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with and support the company’s objectives Investigate and respond to all finance and accounting inquiries promptly and accurately Oversee payroll, manage time‑off tracking, and maintain process documentation, along with supporting a range of related operational tasks Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax planning and filing Work closely with external contractors, clients, and affiliate partners Support stretch projects and assist the team as needed Wear many different hats in a lean, agile, and fast‑paced culture You’ll own everything from day‑to‑day accounting tasks to reporting and investigations. Even small errors affect our relationships with banking partners, our founders’ decision‑making, and ultimately the Canadians who trust us. Requiring end‑to‑end understanding of how money flows through a fintech company, along with exceptional execution and follow‑through.
You’ll be expected to take ownership of your work, proactively communicate when you need help, and deliver what you promised when you promised it. As a remote team, you won’t have someone looking over your shoulder. You need to be a true self‑starter who can figure things out, manage your own time, and stay productive without direct supervision.

The revenue data you compile informs strategic decisions. The GeniusCash validation work you do protects real Canadians from fraud and ensures they get the rewards they earned.
We’re building something meaningful together, and you’ll be part of a team-oriented, high‑performing team that supports each other and works closely together to achieve shared goals. You live in the Maritimes, and are legally eligible to work in Canada. You have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a finance and accounting role within a tech startup or fast‑growing company environment, especially in Fintech and/or a B2C business – and you bring strong data analysis skills with proven experience across a range of data visualization and reporting tools.
You have a BA in finance, business administration, accounting, or a related field – or relevant professional experience. You have a CPA designation, are working towards one, or you have relevant hands‑on experience that demonstrates equivalent financial acumen. You have strong knowledge of federal and provincial laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to finance and accounting best practices.
You’re proficient in QuickBooks Online and highly capable with spreadsheets and financial modeling tools. You bring strong data analysis skills with proven experience using data visualization and reporting tools. You can think on your feet – no problem is too big and no question is too difficult – you know how to find the right answers, online and offline.
You’re quick to pick up new tools and software, and comfortable working across multiple platforms.
