NOW HIRING: Part Time/Full-Time Professional Cleaner | Short-Term Rental Properties | Downtown Calgary

Urban Retreats is looking for a dedicated, detail-obsessed cleaner to join our team maintaining luxury short-term rental units in the Beltline of downtown Calgary.

We manage 9 beautifully appointed units across two buildings in downtown Calgary. Our guests expect hotel-level cleanliness — and we deliver. If you take pride in your work, notice the small things others miss, and want consistent, well-paying hours, keep reading.

What We're Looking For

This role isn't for everyone. We need someone who:

✅ Obsesses over details — You notice the fingerprint on the light switch, the single hair on the pillowcase, the water spot on the faucet. You don't just clean; you inspect.

✅ Can handle physical work at a high speed — This is an active job. You'll be making beds, moving furniture to vacuum underneath, scrubbing showers, and staying on your feet for 2-3+ hours at a time. We need someone who can maintain our standards without cutting corners when it gets tiring.

✅ Has reliable transportation — A vehicle is mandatory. You'll travel between our two Beltline buildings throughout the week, and we don't pay for travel time.

✅ Is dependable and communicates well — We coordinate everything through WhatsApp. You need to check in on time, report issues immediately, and submit photo verification after every clean.

✅ Wants to build something long-term — We reward loyalty and consistency with priority scheduling, bonuses, and growth opportunities.

The Role

Type: Part-Time with the potential of full-time if you prove yourself. (aiming for 20-40+ hours/week once trained)

Location: Two buildings in the Beltline, downtown Calgary

Schedule: Adaptable based on bookings. Standard checkout is 10 AM, check-in is 4 PM. Cleans are typically scheduled between these windows but exceptions do happen.

What You'll Do:

- Complete thorough turnovers following our detailed cleaning checklist
- Make beds with fresh linens (we handle all laundry offsite)
- Deep clean kitchens,



bathrooms, and living spaces to hotel standards
- Restock supplies and amenities
- Document everything with timestamped photos
- Report any damage or maintenance issues immediately
- Maintain our world-class guest experience

Compensation

We pay per clean, based on the number of beds in the unit:

- 2-Bed $45
- 3-Bed $50
- 4-Bed $60

This works out to approximately $18-25/hour depending on your efficiency.

Experienced, reliable cleaners on our team earn up to $650 per week.

Paid weekly on Fridays as a sub-contractor (simple invoice template provided)

All cleaning supplies and restocking items provided

Minimal laundry required — you will only be doing laundry for towels and hand cloths in the unit.

Note: Travel time between buildings or to/from properties is not compensated. When multiple cleans are scheduled on the same day, we assign cleaners to one building to minimize travel.

Getting Started

Probation Period: Your first 3 cleans are a training/probation period. We'll work closely with you, provide feedback, and won't count minor mistakes against your record. After that, our standard quality system applies.

Training: You'll shadow an experienced cleaner and receive our comprehensive cleaning SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) covering every detail of our process.

Growth: New cleaners start with a few cleans per week to build trust. Once you've proven yourself reliable and detail-oriented, you'll receive first priority when new cleans are assigned.

Requirements

✅ Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks for 2-3+ consecutive hours

✅ Available for daytime shifts (typically 10 AM - 6 PM window)

✅ Strong attention to detail

✅ Reliable, punctual, and professional

Pay: $15.00-$26.25 per hour
