About this opportunity:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to support the development and enhancement of native Android mobile applications in a quick-paced agile environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing production-grade Android applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET). This role is ideal for a senior Android professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable mobile solutions. What You’ll Do:
Develop, enhance, and maintain native Android mobile applications.
Deliver feature enhancements and resolve production support tickets based on established priorities.
Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code using Kotlin and Java where applicable.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining development best practices and coding standards.
Integrate software changes into GitHub repositories through pull requests and peer review processes.
Collaborate closely with QA and SDET teams to ensure applications are thoroughly tested and meet quality expectations.
Support Android 9+ environments and assist with platform upgrade and deprecation initiatives.
Utilize Android Studio as the primary development environment.
Track project activities, sprint work, and deliverables using JIRA.
Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives using Confluence.
Adhere to established software development, governance, and open-source approval processes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to mobile development practices and delivery processes. Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience developing native Android applications.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android application development.
Hands-on experience with Android Studio.
Strong understanding of Android SDK and modern Android development practices.
Experience with architecture patterns such as MVVM and MVI.
Experience working with Jetpack components.
Hands-on experience using GitHub, including branching strategies and pull request workflows.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Bitrise or similar tools.
Working knowledge of JIRA for agile project and sprint management.
Experience with automated testing frameworks including JUnit, Espresso,
and Compose UI Testing.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience working within Agile software development environments.
