Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor - General Surgery - Clinician Investigator The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) invites applications for a full‑time faculty member with significant expertise in minimally invasive/robotic colorectal oncologic surgery and a strong academic track record. The appointment will be based primarily at SHSC, with the effective date to be July 1, 2027 or a convenient time for the successful candidate. This is an academic position associated with 40% protected time for academic activities.

The successful candidate will be a credentialed member of the Division of General Surgery at SHSC and will be eligible for an appointment at the University of Toronto, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, at a rank commensurate with qualifications.

Responsibilities Provide multidisciplinary and high‑quality clinical care in oncologic colorectal surgery. Manage a broad range of colorectal oncologic patients and collaborate with health‑care providers.

Train

University of Toronto medical students, surgery residents, and clinical fellows. Conduct academic work, including research, quality improvement, and scholarly publications. Serve with commitment to the strategic goals of the Division of General Surgery and the Department of Surgery.

Qualifications and Experience Graduate degree (Masters or PhD equivalent) and evidence of excellence in teaching and research. Fellowship and formal certification in colorectal oncology, with robotic/minimally invasive colorectal cancer surgery expertise.



Board certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Board of Surgery, or an equivalent body.

Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Demonstrated academic track record and a plan for further scholarly activity at U of T. Salary

Salary will be in the range of 400,000 CAD and above, commensurate with qualifications and experience; the estimate is based on fee‑for‑service billings.
