Role Overview
Associate Director, Performance Media – The role is accountable for strategic leadership, financial stewardship, and operational excellence of EQ Bank’s performance media program, owning end‑to‑end outcomes across EQ Bank and REM, leading a hybrid internal + agency model, and serving as senior marketing liaison.
Core Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end performance media strategy and delivery for EQ Bank that aligns to growth, acquisition, and efficiency targets.
- Accountable for overall marketing budget management including planning, pacing, tracking, accruals, and all finance submissions.
- Act as the senior decision maker on in‑year investment tradeoffs, reallocations, and optimization decisions.
- Lead and govern a hybrid agency and vendor model, setting scopes, performance expectations, and accountability.
- Serve as the primary marketing lead and point of contact for Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and advanced measurement.
- Partner closely with Analytics to translate Mixed Media Model and performance insights into actionable media and investment decisions.
- Provide performance media strategy consultation for REM initiatives, as required.
- Own monthly Growth Notes and lead monthly growth performance meetings for EQ Bank and EQ Bank Business.
- Respond to and manage requests from senior leadership related to media performance and growth insights.Lead, coach, and develop team members and agency partners.
- Operate as a senior cross‑functional partner to Product, Brand, Analytics, and Finance to drive aligned growth outcomes.
Qualifications
- University degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or equivalent senior level experience.
- 8–10+ years of experience leading performance media or growth marketing in client‑side and/or top tier agency environments.
- Proven ownership of large, complex marketing budgets, including forecasting, accruals, financial governance, and ROI accountability.
- Deep expertise in performance measurement, optimization and advanced analytics, including Mixed Media model, attribution, and conversion optimization.
- Strong strategic understanding of full‑funnel media channels (offline & online) and the full consumer journey including acquisition and growth levers.
- Experience translating complex data and insights into clear executive‑ready recommendations and decisions.
- Success in leading and governing agencies and vendors within a hybrid or multi‑partner model.
- 3–5+ years of people‑leadership experience with a track record of coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
- Deep experience building strong brands and delivering acquisition and loyalty programs across channels and media.
- Confident, cooperative leader able to influence senior stakeholders and cross‑functional peers in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented leader with strong execution discipline, sound judgment, and the ability to perform under pressure.
