Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) is seeking a passionate and engaging Early Years Ballet Teacher (Ages 3–8) to join its Comprehensive Dance Programs team on a part-time, contract basis.
Reporting to the Head of Comprehensive Dance Programs, the Early Years Ballet Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate ballet classes that inspire creativity, confidence, coordination, musicality, and a lifelong love of movement. The successful candidate will create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where young children feel supported to explore movement and build foundational dance skills.
Key responsibilities include preparing and teaching weekly classes, implementing the NBS curriculum, monitoring student growth and progress, and adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of learners. The teacher will foster strong relationships with students and families through explicit, professional communication while promoting a safe,
respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
In addition to teaching, the role involves collaborating with artistic faculty and program leadership on curriculum delivery, student assessments, performances, rehearsals, demonstrations, and special events. The Early Years Ballet Teacher will participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities and contribute to maintaining the high standards of artistic excellence, inclusion, and student wellbeing that define NBS.
