Role Summary Reclamation Assessor – part of the Enterprise Reclamation team. Responsible for reviewing reclamation applications, audits, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring reclamation activities meet government policy and criteria. Responsibilities Conduct technical reviews and audits of reclamation certificate applications for oil and gas sites on public and private lands to determine compliance with government policy and criteria. Interact with external stakeholders to address their concerns regarding reclamation. Demonstrate professional judgment, problem solving, strategic thinking, and creativity while supporting AER vision, mandate, culture, and processes. Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on criteria, variances, justifications, policy and procedural aspects. Interact with industry and consultants to clarify requirements and provide advice to improve environmental performance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental science, engineering, soil science, biology, or a related field. 6+ years of directly related experience in reclamation.



Experience preparing and/or reviewing reclamation applications using Alberta 2010 Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities. Sound knowledge of Alberta 2010 Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities. Knowledge of the Canadian System of Soil Classification. Strong knowledge of native grass vegetation species and grassland ecosystems. Knowledge of reclamation and land management practices. Additional training such as First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance, Driver Training considered assets. Pre-placement medical required. Valid class 5 driver’s licence with a positive driving record. Other Requirements Travel required approximately 40% of the time, including some overnight travel (approximately 10‑15 overnight stays per year).
