Bilingual Specialist, pharmacy system solution and support (1 year term contract)
Location: Montreal Office (Additional location: SDM Toronto Office)
Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of QC Initiatives, the incumbent is responsible for providing second level pharmacy systems business support for store-level pharmacy systems and applications primarily for Quebec. The role evaluates testing and creates user documentation for functional processes and data conversions of pharmacy management systems. It also provides on-site support when required and analyses and delivers functional solutions for third‑party adjudication issues, programs, and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide second‑level pharmacy systems business support for stores and field resources, including pharmacy data conversions, migration from legacy to new systems, and support for acquisitions and mergers; develop and execute UAT strategy and recommendations for acquired businesses.
- Research and test functional solutions, strategies, and tactics; create and update reference material for pharmacy application issues, expanded scope of pharmacy practice, and pharmacy initiatives.
- Support development, testing, and implementation of new pharmacy management system.
- Collaborate with the Pharmacy Enhanced Support team to provide ongoing support, training of new programs, initiatives, and issue management.
- Analyze, research, and develop business rules to assist with operational impact analysis, testing, documentation, planning, implementation, and integration of pharmacy programs and initiatives.
- Develop deployment and support plans for PHX pharmacies, handling hardware and network coordination with central LCL teams.
- Manage training execution for pharmacy system users.
- Prepare deployment communications clearly and timely.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure visibility, resolve concerns, manage task ownership, and avoid duplication of effort.
- Support AssystRx software releases in collaboration with Telus.
- Coordinate and oversee hardware fixes and requests from stores.
- Provide AssystRx hardware and network support, manage operations and internal processes.
- Support franchise ownership changes regarding adjudication licenses, connectivity, and accounting setup.
- Support finance and accounting teams on inventory issues and financial reporting.
- Assist acquisition team in due diligence for new opportunities.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel will be required.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Advanced initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks, workload, and projects.
- Bilingual – English and French.
- Experience and understanding of Assyst‑Rx pharmacy management system an asset.
- Understanding of Quebec pharmacy regulations, prescription reimbursement plans, claims processing, clinical programs, and pharmacy workflow an asset.
- Knowledge of RAMQ, AQPP, CPhA03 Pharmacy Claim Standard and CLHIA Coordination of Benefits Guideline an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of Electronic Health Records (DSQ) an asset.
- Excellent problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adaptable work hours.
- Experience with expanded scope of pharmacy practice (e.g., Medication Reviews, Injection Services, Prescribing).
- Experience with Retail/Long Term Care pharmacy services.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence an asset.
- Knowledge of integration of MMS/EPOS/accounting and SDM software.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Experience/Education
- Two to three years of similar and/or related work experience and pharmacy practice experience in Quebec.
- Two to three years of advanced experience and knowledge of current pharmacy business practices, prescription claims processes, workflows, and legislation, including provincial and third‑party drug plan rules and adjudication processes.
- Two to three years of Pharmacy Assistant experience or management at store level, or completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program. Certificates, licences, or registration may be submitted.

Hiring Range / Échelle Salariale à L’embauche
$60,000.00 - $82,500.00 per year
