Position Biomedical Technologist Competition 2026 268 New Status Full Time Department Clinical Engineering UNION OPSEU Salary 3684 to 5024 per hour Position Summary Under the direction of the IMIT and Clinical Engineering Manager the Biomedical Technologist will participate and contribute to the medical equipment management program of the department at the Brockville General Hospital The technologist will repair maintain and conduct preventive maintenance on various electro medical equipment andor hemodialysis and water treatment systems to ensure safe and proper function for both patients and users Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the BGH strategy As an employee one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do Requirements Education and Experience Completion of an accredited BiomedicalClinical Engineering Technology diploma or BiomedicalClinical Engineering degree preferred Canadian Biomedical Engineering Certification is an asset Experienced in the use of computers in a Windows workplace such as spreadsheet applications and computerized databasesSkills & Abilities Evidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essentialDemonstrated technical intuition and highly developed problem solving skillsDemonstrated leadership skillsStrong electronic troubleshooting skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively courteously and tactfully with colleagues and clientsEvidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essentialSelf motivated with ability to work under pressure in a clinical settingDemonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance on a regular basisAble to work with other healthcare partnersDemonstrated ability to attend work regularly
