POSTION SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst for the Smart Chart Project (Cerner) is responsible for workflow analysis & process redesign, communication within the project and clinical teams, maintenance of the Cerner system.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- A Health Science / Health Informatics or equivalent degree/ work related experience

- Computer skills to include querrying databases, word processing and spreadsheets

- Knowledge of clinical processes and experience in health care environment is an asset.

- Business process analysis experience

- Two year’s recent, related experience

- Results oriented and able to work effectively in a fast paced environment

- Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to set and meet priorities

- Knowledge of and experience in systems analysis and design

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





- Works collaboratively with the clinical areas in analyzing and defining business processes

- Assist in the implementation of new business processes

- Works collaboratively with others to identify opportunities for improving information management processes in all areas of the organization.

- Participates in the identification and development of educational programs and resources to support staff adoption of information technology solutions.

- Provides leadership in the identification and development of policies and procedures related to informatics initiatives.

- Basic project planning skills

- Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of the electronic health record.

- Works with project team in design, implementation and maintenance of changes to business processes.

- Develops and implements contingency planning

- Must be able to work overtime on weekdays, weekends and holidays as required by system support and maintenance

- Must be part of the “on call team”, providing support to end users after hours
