Environmental Specialist – Air Ontario, Canada Shell is seeking an Environmental Specialist – Air to join its team in Sarnia. The primary focus of this role is environmental compliance related to air quality. The role reports to the HSSE Manager within the Sarnia Manufacturing Centre and provides environmental regulatory, sustainable development, and technical support. Responsibilities Interpret and recommend actions to comply with environmental regulations, permits, guidelines, standards, codes of practice, and corporate requirements. Complete NPRI reporting and additional reports for assigned focus area pursuant to regulatory requirements or licenses and permits (e.G., GHG, O. Reg419/05, O. Reg88/22). Work closely with the site to ensure regulatory and company environmental performance requirements are met; complete Shell internalPMR reporting. Review procedures and Management of Change documents to ensure environmental implications are understood and addressed. Provide environmental training to Sarnia Manufacturing Centre staff. Update procedures and enter database threats for emerging regulations to build changes in processes. Act as focal point for regulatory enquiries related to air. Develop and maintain productive and positive relationships with government agencies. Work with teams to develop environmental positions to ensure compliance and generate the best position for the site. Execute ad‑hoc tasks, activities and leadership activities to meet the needs of the asset. Serve as an on‑call member of the Emergency Operations Centre on a rotational basis.



Manage multiple activities and tasks as well as conflicting demands while ensuring delivery of agreed priorities and deadlines. Reserve worker duties may be assigned in the case of strike/lockout to allow business continuity. Qualifications Legal authorization to work in Canada on a full‑time basis for anyone other than the current employer. College or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. At least 3 years of environmental experience in refining, heavy industrial, petrochemical, or other large industries. Expertise in Canadian and Ontario environmental legislation related to air is an asset. Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and data analytical skills. Working knowledge of ISO14001 requirements. Ability to work across multiple lines of business within the Sarnia Manufacturing Centre and across Shell. Ability to adapt and remain flexible when assigned to special projects or tasks. Must be willing to relocate to Lambton County; relocation assistance provided. Perks Base salary range: $82,000 - $130,000 per year, adjusted for experience, education and internal equity. Competitive performance‑related salary increases.
