Salary placement on pay scale based on qualifications and experience relevant to position.The OpportunityThe Job Developer (JD) will liaise with employers and professional associations to obtain work experience opportunities for program participants with barriers to employment. The JD will assist Participants with job search strategies, providing tools and resources to help prepare and support job maintenance. The JD also contributes to the program team by assisting with participant recruitment, screening and liaising with community organizations.Who We AreDo what you love. Be good at it. Job Shadowing opportunities Informational Interviews Wage Subsidy Work Experiences, Direct Job Placement, Mentorship Assist employers with onboarding and the development of training; Monitor and provide ongoing support during and after completion of program; Assist participants and employers to resolve issues that may arise during work experience; Participate inlocal business and industry meetings (i.E. Chamber of Commerce); Maintainrecords of participant progress and provide updates through monthly reports and regular team meetings; Review client outcomes against performance targets, contribute strategies to ensure program targets are met, participate in strategic planning and program review sessions as scheduled; Provide coverage for team members including facilitation for in class sessions; Foster positive, productive working relationships and work collaboratively to contribute to a positive work workplace based on mutual respect; Participate inTraining Group’s Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015); Participate inTraining Group’s Job Developer cross-program team. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED :Post-Secondary degree, in an employment services related field or, equivalent level of knowledge and experience; Certified Career Development Practitioner ( CCDP ) an asset; Certificate ordiploma in Job Development an asset. Demonstrated ExperienceBuilding and maintaining partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders; Providing customer service and resolving issues; Knowledge of the labour market in Langley and BC is an asset. In AdditionStrong oral, written,
and communication skills an asset; Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule; Willingness totravel within the Lower Mainland; Valid driver’slicense and reliable vehicle; Good computer skills: MS Office Suite, database entry, and the use of online-demand meeting applications and desk-top sharing; Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check. Additional InformationWORK SCHEDULE :This posting is for a full-time contract Job Developer, 40 hrs per week, with the WorkBC Langley Centre. Must be able to work flexible hours (including some evenings and, on occasion some Saturdays).
