Lead Building Technician – Montreal

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Lead Building Technician to support our data centers.

Responsibilities

- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center operates at peak efficiency.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency responses for equipment.
- Serve as the focal point for all facility operations within a given data center.
- Manage small‑to‑medium projects from conception to completion, including obtaining and tracking quotes and documenting results for future implementation.
- Support Engineering Operation technicians and third‑party vendors in on‑site troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment such as generators, switchgear, UPS, PDU, AHU, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.
- Operate in an setting that runs 24/7.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- In‑depth understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in critical data center operations, including generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, pumps, air handling units, CRAC units.




- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in elevated locations.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and provide after‑hours support as needed.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or College degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in mechanical/electrical field.
- Professional electrical or mechanical trade certification (post‑secondary).

- Base salary range: CAD 91,700 – 118,300 annually (Pointe‑Claire, QC).
