Child Development & Inclusion Support Assistant

Fergus, Ontario | $23/hour | 30 hours/week | Immediate Start

We are looking for a caring, patient and dependable Child Development & Inclusion Support Assistant to join our childcare program in Fergus.

This position is ideal for someone who has experience or education in child development, inclusion, sensory support, behavioural support, or working with children who require additional support.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and can help create a calm, nurturing and inclusive workplace where every child can participate and thrive.

Schedule & Compensation

- Monday–Friday
- 8:30 AM–3:00 PM
- 30-minute unpaid break
- 30 paid hours per week
- $23/hour
- Immediate start

Responsibilities The successful candidate will help support children throughout the daily childcare program, including:
- Providing additional support to children who may have sensory, developmental, behavioural or regulation needs
- Supporting children during transitions and daily routines
- Helping children participate in activities and group experiences
- Supporting fine-motor and gross-motor activities
- Helping children develop independence and functional skills
- Providing appropriate one-on-one support when needed
- Helping create and maintain a calm and inclusive environment
- Following strategies and recommendations provided by qualified professionals
- Communicating observations and concerns with the childcare team
- Supporting positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Assisting with maintaining a safe, clean and organized environment





Backgrounds we're interested in

You do not have to be an OTA to apply.

We would be interested in candidates with education or experience in areas such as:

- Occupational Therapy Assistant / Physiotherapy Assistant
- Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Child & Youth Care (CYW)
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW)
- Behavioural Science / Behaviour Therapy
- Kinesiology
- Psychology
- Special Education
- Social Services
- Experience supporting children with developmental or sensory needs

Pediatric experience is strongly preferred.

Students currently enrolled in a related program who have relevant childcare experience are also welcome to apply.
