Overview Established in 1851 in Australia, BHP is a global mining company with operations across the world. The Legal team seeks a full time position based in downtown Toronto to support BHP’s global Exploration team and North American legacy assets. Responsibilities Support exploration deals and regulatory compliance in multiple jurisdictions globally. Negotiate and advise on earn-in agreements, option agreements, and joint venture agreements. Collaborate with a broad range of business groups, tackle problems, determine practical solutions, and build relationships with internal clients. Provide support to the Exploration team and legacy assets in Canada and globally. Report to the Head of Exploration and Legacy Assets Legal, based in downtown Toronto.



Qualifications 3–5 years of in-house and/or private practice mining experience, gained at a top law firm or corporate. Legal practitioner based in downtown Toronto; full-time, hybrid work model (minimum 3 days in the office). Ability to accommodate colleagues in different time zones and willingness to travel periodically. Strong initiative, ability to instruct external counsel, and demonstrated relationship-building skills across the company.
