The Commis, Exp43edition et R e9ception is responsible for shipping and receiving operations at the Montreal store, handling incoming and outgoing merchandise and supporting warehouse activities. This role involves operating material handling equipment, inspecting shipments for accuracy and damage, and preparing goods for storage or delivery. The position contributes to efficient inventory flow while ensuring safety and compliance with applicable customs procedures for international shipments.
Responsibilities
- Unload merchandise from delivery trucks using protected lifting techniques
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, platform truck and pump carts with care
- Deliver boxes to designated areas in an orderly manner
- Verify box counts against shipping documents, invoices or packing slips
- Inspect boxes for broken or altered seals and note discrepancies
- Record and report shortages, missing items or damaged goods to manager
- Select shipping methods, complete shipping documentation and label packages
- Pack merchandise and load trucks for outbound deliveries
- Collect returns, submit alterations and retrieve supply orders to assigned areas
- Manage hangers, cardboard, waste and recyclables in accordance with store procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2 to 3 years of shipping and receiving experience
- Bilingual in French and English
- Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment and following safety protocols
