Accounts Payable Supervisor (Fort St. John, BC)Surerus is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Supervisor in the Fort St. John Office. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible to train, develop and mentor the Accounts Payable department as well as ensure the accurate and timely processing of the day-to-day accounts payable invoices. Our culture emphasizes continued growth, commitment, and career development with a challenging and engaging work environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage the full cycle accounts payable processes, including:Review invoices and expense reports for coding, approvals, supportingdocumentation and policy complianceInvestigate and resolve invoice and PO discrepanciesData entry invoices and expense reportsReconcile fuel billingReconcile and post transportation permitsAssist with cheque runsRespond to vendor inquiriesRespond to internal inquiries on the status of vendor payments and related codingEnsure appropriate documents are filed correctly and according to company policy and proceduresEnsure correct commodity tax has been charged or assessed; specifically required to identify BC PST tax requirements on purchasesMaintain strong internal controls and audit readiness within the accounts payable processes, ensuring transactions are properly authorized, supported,



documented and traceable.Responsible for accounts payable information provided to external auditors by providing required documentation and explanationsEnsure standardized execution, documentation, and continuous improvement of accounts payable workflowsParticipate in cross-departmental projects impacting accounts payable, finance, or operationsPromote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to qualityMentor, develop, and manage direct reportsResponsible for recruitment, selection, and performance management of accounts payable departmentNote: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.POSITION REQUIREMENTSQualifications/Experience3-5 years of related experienceBusiness Administration diploma or equivalent education / experience is desiredExperience with Explorer Eclipse software is considered an assetSkills & KnowledgeExcellent Excel and accounting software skillsDetail oriented, analytical, organized and strong work ethicSelf-motivated, results driven, able to work well under time constraintsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues diplomaticallyProactive problem-solver with a focus on resolution and operational excellenceCollaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionallyCustomer-service oriented with a positive, solutions-focused approachWORKING CONDITIONSThis position is office based and works at our office location in Fort St John.
