The Sr Research Administrator (SRA) is responsible for post-award grant management for the Department of Epidemiology. This role supports investigators during grant implementation and close-out and is the primary lead for budget management, compliance, spend monitoring, and collaboration with Grants and Sponsored Programs and Grants Finance teams. The roles necessitates management of competing priorities while providing excellence in customer service to internal and external customers; independently monitoring sponsored agreements, contracts and subawards; serving as a training resource for faculty and staff at all levels; understanding and compliance with federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory documents.

Manage post-award administration of grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of budgets, preparation and monitoring of subawards, close-out of awards and coordinating of annual reporting from all parties). Ensure compliance with federal, sponsor or institutional guidelines related to grants. research team, sponsor institutions, grants finance, grants and sponsored programs)
to effectively manage the department’s portfolio. Support development and maintenance of standard operating procedures to ensure high-quality services of own team/ department.
Develop, prepare, revise, and finalize project budgets and provide budget justifications.
Minimum
Education and/or Training ~ Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum Requirement: 4+ years of experience in administration processes as applicable to grants and sponsored programs. Proven performance in earlier role.
Certified Research
Administrator (CRA) or Financial Certified Research Administrator (FCRA) credentials preferred Experience with grant management module in Workday preferred.
Experience using, and managing grant contract lifecycle management software and contract platforms Proven track record of budget management for projects of varied complexity and scope Effectively monitors compliance with financial regulatory requirements and reports issues. evaluates reports and data to identify business issues. Ability to look at data more critically and draw meaningful conclusions. Conducts root-cause analysis as needed.
Good understanding of contract management, agreements and negotiation.
Supports faculty and staff in resolving issues as they relate to contracts and grant supply needs. Strong knowledge of policies, practices and concepts related to research administration.
Maintains complete and accurate collection of research management administration data. Works independently to assess complex contract and grant proposal requirements and manage complex grant and contract proposals and award. Promotes the use of best practices in administration.

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,720 - $126,880 per year for the role of Sr Research Administrator.
